I highly recommend taking a cruise on the Sumida River and Tokyo Bay when you visit Tokyo! In this article I would like to introduce "TOKYO CRUISE" managed by Tokyo Cruise Ship Co., Ltd.
TOKYO CRUISE mainly operates along the Sumida River and Tokyo Bay, and has boarding locations in Asakusa, Hamarikyu Gardens, Hinode Pier, Toyosu and Odaiba. Cruises connecting Asakusa and Hamarikyu Gardens or Odaiba are particularly popular. From Asakusa you can enjoy a 35 minute voyage to Hamarikyu Gardens or a 50 minute voyage to Odaiba. Unique and colorful bridges such as Azumabashi Bridge and Kachidokibashi Bridge tower over the Sumida River, and are a delightful part of the cruise. If you look behind you, you can catch a view of the Tokyo Skytree. Furthermore, after passing Kiyosubashi Bridge, high-rise condominiums in Tsukuda, Chuo ward, called the “Okawabata River City 21”, will appear before your eyes. The uniformity and aesthetics of the complex are a beautiful and spectacular sight to see! Passing the condos, you'll see skyscrapers in Tsukishima and Kachidoki on the left side, and the world-famous Tokyo Tower and skyscrapers in Shiodome on the right side. Once you pass the Hamarikyu Gardens, you will find yourself in historic Tokyo Bay. You'll be welcomed by representative sights such as the Rainbow Bridge and Odaiba. As you can see, TOKYO CRUISE can show you a lot of what Tokyo has to offer through a unique ferry experience!

One of the things that is unique about TOKYO CRUISE is that the cruise ships themselves are very unique. "Hotaluna" is a spaceship-inspired, silver metallic streamlined ship. Its futuristic appearance is not something you see every day. The ship was designed by Leiji MATSUMOTO, a manga artist well-known for legendary mangas such as “Galaxy Express 999” and “Space Battleship Yamato”. The inside of the ship is brightly lit and there is a nice open feeling to it. "Atakemaru" is a gorgeous and luxurious ship that is modeled after "Gozabune" an Edo Period (1603 - 1868) Daimyo's (Japanese feudal lord) ship. Being able to ride the ship itself is well worth it, but the seasonal Japanese food they serve and the traditional Japanese performance art shows make it a can't miss experience!
